As of April 30, 2020, the VX520 is considered end-of-life, meaning Verifone no longer issues software updates or renews PCI certification, though it may still function for some time depending on your processor.
What should I do if my Verifone VX520 screen is locked?
To unlock it, go to the home screen, press 8, enter the default password (1, alpha, alpha, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1), and press the green key. Select “No” when prompted to lock the keyboard again.
